‘We were just like: “Are they

into each other?”’

we were just like: ‘Are they
into each other?’ former Home
And Away star Lincoln Lewis
tells New Idea.
‘There’s going to be a
moment where they’re just like:
“I hate you”, “I hate you more”
and then just start kissing!’
Even acid-tongued host
Marco Pierre White picked up
on the confusing chemistry
between David, who is the
husband of The Real Housewives
Of Sydney star Lisa Oldfield,
and mother-of-three Pettifleur.
‘You look like a lovely
couple,’ he joked to the pair.
David, 59, then turned to the

former Real Housewives Of
Melbourne star and said:
‘Everyone can see the chemistry.’
‘Please, I’d pull my bloody
head off if I was with you,’
Pettifleur, 52, snapped back.
However, despite their
bewildering interactions, both
reality stars tell New Idea
they are already in happy
relationships and their fights
were just a side-product of
the pressure of the show.
‘We had some crazy-ass
fights,’ Pettifleur, whose
partner is businessman Frank
Palazzo, admits.
David concurs, adding: ‘There

were certainly a number of times
I cracked. Pettifleur sees herself
as something of a button pusher,
a provocateur. A general pest.
‘I didn’t mind Pettifleur.
I’d be happy to have a drink
with her some time. I just
found her a bit annoying.’
Where the lines do get
a little blurred is when
it comes to a particular
showdown over David’s
marriage woes.
‘Prior to meeting David,
I was actually sympathetic
towards him after watching
him on his wife’s TV show,’
Pettifleur confesses.

‘He looked browbeaten and
I was sad for the guy. However,
the moment he got on set, he
couldn’t wait to bag his wife!’
Despite saying he was a ‘victim
of housewife abuse’, David is
adamant he never spoke to her
in depth about his marriage.
‘We didn’t go into any great
discussion about my marriage,’
David alleges.
‘I probably answered a few
questions because she was
asking all the time about this,
that and everything else, [but]
she’s never met Lisa, she’s
never been to my home.’

BOMBSHELL

While David and Pettifleur
spent their time sparring
in the kitchen, two other
contestants were quietly
forming a beautiful bond.
Unlikely duo Sam Frost
and Issa Schultz reveal
to New Idea they have an
unexpected, albeit very
close, friendship thanks
to Hell’s Kitchen.
‘Sam is a beautiful lady,’
The Chase star gushes.
‘She is just an angel,
a real sweetie.’
Home And Away’s
newest recruit Sam is
equally heavy-handed
with her praise for the
softly spoken Issa, 33.
‘Issa is my all-time

favourite,’ she says.
‘We text all the time.
He’s seriously one of
my favourite people.
I got along with him
like a house on fire.’
The pair had a chance
reunion at the Logies
earlier this year and
‘loved’ catching up on
each other’s news.
‘I really relate a lot to
Issa,’ Sam, 28, explains.
‘We have the same
sense of humour, and
I think we can be a tad
awkward at times, and
I think we just clicked.
‘We started at the same
cooking level as well, so
we were in it together!’

David is married to
Lisa (above), and
Pettifleur is a mum
of two sons (left).

You could cut
the tension
with a knife!

Sam Frost
and Issa
Schultz formed
a very special
bond.
