98 :OLD BIKE AUSTRALASIA

169 motorcycles gathered for the annual MTMR&PC rally, based at Windsor
in Sydney’s northwest, with brilliant sunny weather throughout. Excellent
organisation meant there were marshals in bright blue vests
on every major turning as the ride meandered through the back roads of the
historic district. Saturday’s ride commenced at 9.30 and took entrants to the

morning tea stop at Ebenezer Presbyterian Church – the oldest continuously
operating church and the oldest school building in Australia. Suitably refreshed,
riders then headed north, crossing the Hawkesbury River via ferry at Lower
Portland and on to the tiny Hillside School at Glenorie for lunch and judging.
With the promise of a balmy day reaching 26 degrees, a good turnout of
entrants backed up for the shorter Sunday ride which concluded at the
Yarramundi Lookout overlooking the Penrith Lakes.
