the Queensland branch of the asrF host the Downunder Beachfest
for pre-1983 cars and bikes during the June long weekend and put
on cruises, show and shines, a poker run, a street party, live bands
and driving events around the city of Caloundra.
early arrivals registered from the Wednesday and took part in a
lunch-time cruise through the hinterland before the event really
started to ramp up on the thursday. entrants were encouraged to
meet at the nearby Big Kart track for a session of racing before
various cruises led participants back to the centre of town for a

thursday evening street party featuring live music, dancing and a
showing of the classic lm, american Grafti.
on the Friday a poker run followed registrations and took
rodders on a relaxed tour through the hinterland to the palmwoods
hotel for lunch. the remainder of the Friday was left wide open so
visitors could settle in for the weekend, catch up with friends and
enjoy the many great attractions around the sunshine Coast.
saturday was by far the biggest day of the event with over 700
entries overowing the allocated parking areas in the streets
