A bunch of our buddies helped us cut
down the thousands of hopeful Aussie
bachies to 30 for you guys to choose
from. Thanks to our partners Tinder,
who helped us find the nation’s best
guys, our friends at Beta Bar in Sydney
for the killer cocktails to alleviate our
hot flushes, and Kindred Floral for
the oh-so-romantic blooms.family and friends more and more
often. My family, who I am very
close with, had noticed and were
really worried. But I was young
and in love (or what I thought
was love) and I didn’t recognise
the red f lags beforehand.
The attack was horrific and,
truthfully, I considered jumping
out the window because I didn’t
want him to have the satisfaction
of taking my life from me. But
I also thought,
Imagine if my family
thought I had done
that by choice and not
because of what had
happened. I couldn’t
do it to them.
I share my story
with you because I’m
not alone. There’s
no stereotype for a
victim. But there were signs,
and I didn’t see them. Here at
Cosmo, we’re passionate about
doing everything we can to stop
domestic violence. No man or
woman should ever lay a hand
on any other human being, ever,
yet one Aussie woman is dying
every week from
domestic violence-
related attacks. So,
we teamed up with
local celebrities and
victims to share their
stories and highlight
the red f lags of
domestic violence- all the stuff that
happens that we can
mistakenly pass off as our partner
being ‘protective’ or just ‘so in
love’. If one girl sees a red f lag
and chooses to seek help or tell
someone about it, that’s good
enough for us!
