Tips to make your pantry shipshape
and mealtimes more efficient

YOUR
p
iles of tins, bottles
and bags, half-used
goods and the odd
unidentified or out-
of-date object... If this sounds
like the grim state of your
kitchen pantry, arm yourself
with new containers, clever
caddies and storage solutions
to get you back on the well-
organised track. Here’s how.
1 SPIN A LAZY SUSAN
Avoid rummaging through
your pantry in search of the
barbie or tommy sauce for
your snags. Place a lazy Susan,
available from kitchen storage
stores, on a shelf and load
it up with bottles and jars.
Tracking down your favourite
condiment is just a spin away!
3 ADD HANDY DRAWERS
A trip to the hardware or any kitchen storage store will uncover all kinds of
space-maximising solutions that you can put to use in your pantry. These
drawers from Howards Storage World are a clever idea – you just screw the
bottom bracket to the base of your cabinet, then the drawer component
slides in and out with ease. Load it up with your container collection
and it’s always easy to retrieve items from the back of your cabinet.
2 MAKE DIVIDERS
Are your baking trays and
chopping boards forever
sliding about your pantry?
Keep them upright and
well organised with DIY
dividers. To make: cut a
series of 16mm-dia. white
rods to fit between two
shelves, then buy the
spring-loaded components
to slot in the top and
bottom of the tubes to hold
them firmly in place. Easy!
