From sty to style
The Hunter Valley, a NSW
region acclaimed for its
fine wines, is also where
Lorraine Flynn decided
to build her beautiful
country home. The 2ha
block of land she chose
was formerly known as
Jacs Paddock, once home
to 10 pigs! Lorraine saw
the latent potential to
transform the space into
her family home, a country
haven she designed, and she
was finally able to move in two
years later. Since then, the decor
hasn’t stopped evolving.
“I am always on the lookout
for interesting pieces, no matter
how small or large,” she says.
Wooden it be lovely
After several years, Lorraine
decided to transform the games
room into a loft-style studio,
with most of the work done
by her partner Michael.
“I’ve been fortunate to have
a brilliant carpenter as my
boyfriend,” she says. You can
also see Michael’s handiwork
in the expansive outdoor table,
which has a trough in the
middle that’s often filled with
flowers, or ice to chill drinks.
