xploring the vast coastline of Australia’s
west is a dream for many, and has been
on my must-see list for years. The only
things stopping me were the planning
required and the vast distances of such an
adventure. So, when I learned about the
Monkey Mia Dolphins & West Coast six-day
tour, my only question was, “When do we go?!”
The AAT Kings coach journey promised
a fun-filled jaunt from Fremantle to Monkey
Mia and Perth; I hadn’t even finished reading
the itinerary before I was packing my neck
ad.One of the best ways to see

otel in Fremantle, we join our fellow travellers
in the foyer and meet our travel director

gives us a brief introduction to the

of Lancelin,127km north of Perth, we head
to Nambung National Park to see
The Pinnacles –and these towering
limestone formations in the middle of
the desert are a sight to behold!
Along the way, Margaret clues us up
on the Batavia Coast’s history, where
ships such as the Batavia met an ill fate.
In Geraldton we visit the HMAS Sydney
II Memorial, poring over the names of all
645 crew members who perished when
the ship was attacked by German raider
