RACERHEAD

How many hours have you spent getting tattooed?
Probably 20 hours, give or take.

How many tattoos do you have?
Fourteen tattoos. A lot of them are mixed together.

How old were you when you got your first tattoo?
I was 18 in Las Vegas, just some random shop. Me and my
buddy thought of it, and we got matching tattoos. It was for Tan-
ner Krahenbuhl. He died in 2009. We were close friends with him.

Which ones have the most meaning to you?
I would say the one for Tanner. My first tattoo was with Tanner. It’s
the most meaningful one. My wife and I got these in Hawaii right
after our wedding. Then a heart with my wife’s initial, P. She has a
heart with C. Just something little.

Any regrettable ones?
I actually have a cover-up. I went to the tattoo shop, and the
guy just gave me options of what I could do to cover it up, and
I picked one. I had no point to do it. Then I just got a girlfriend,
which is now my wife, and she’s like, “Are you serious? You
picked a woman to go on your forearm?” It’s like a Day of the
Dead. I didn’t even know what it was.

Do you have any cool tattoo stories?
My second tattoo was the one on my chest. I don’t really know
why I did it, but they got close to my nipple, and I almost told
them to stop and it had just started. I’m like, “I don’t want to do
this, but I have to now.” He was laughing. I’m like, “Dude, it hurts
so bad.” He’s like, “I can’t stop. You’re going to look dumb with
just a little piece on there.”

Was that the most painful?
The one right by the nipple. I almost started crying there, but I
got through it. I would say that was the worst.
