Christmas Tree Traybake

Turn a simple traybake into a festive showstopper with cute Christmas sugar bunting
and edible decorations. Perfect for Christmas parties - and so easy to do!

1 Cover the top of the tray bake
with plain white buttercream.
2 Colour the remaining
buttercream with Colour Splash
forest green to a dark shade.
Note that the colour will deepen
after the buttercream has dried.
3 Fill a clean piping bag with the
forest green buttercream, and
then cut off the end of the bag.
4 Pipe a single line down the
middle of the tray bake then two
horizontal lines across this to create
a guide to pipe a tree, as pictured.
5 Pipe a triangle tree onto the
tray bake following the piped
guide lines.

6 Next, use the saw tooth comb
from the Cake Star comb set to
create a vertical texture down the
tree to create the fi rst pattern.
7 From the centre of the tree, sweep
the comb outwards. Follow the
same pattern down the tree until
complete, see pictures for guidance.
8 Unwrap the cute Christmas
bunting sugar decorations and lay
them out on a clean dry surface.
Begin adding them to the top of
the tray bake using three picture
bunting fl ags.
9 For the next row of bunting,
spell out the word ‘MERRY’ on the
buttercream tree.

10 Take seven picture bunting
fl ags and space them out evenly
on the tree to make the third row.
11 Spell out the word
‘CHRISTMAS’ and place the fl ags
out evenly on the tree as pictured.
12 Arrange the remaining picture
bunting fl ags to complete the
bottom row.
13 Use the Purple Cupcakes
pearls to create a string of lights
cascading down and around the
tree as pictured.
14 Lastly roll out the gold metallic
modelling paste and cut a 50mm
star and stick at the top of the
tree to fi nish.
