21 Insert one of the twig pieces

into the posy pick.

19 Cut smaller pieces of wire and

cover these in tape then use the

end of the tape to attach to the

main wire. No need to be too neat

as they should look like twigs.

Make two of these.

20 Twist the two ‘twigs’ together

to create a rustic wreath.

This technique can be adapted for

all kinds of cakes.

17 Arrange the pinecones at the

base of the cake.

18 Wrap one of the wires with the

fl oral tape.

22 Position the twig topper on the

cake and insert the posy pick into

the top tier.

This cake looks equally

stunning with or without the

rustic wreath and you could

make just one tier and still wow

your guests!
