BACK
Using M only throughout, work as for Front to **.
Cont inc 8dc in each round (staggering position of inc as
before) until Back measures 30cm in diameter. Fasten off.
LEGS (MAKE 2, BEG AT FOOT)
Using 3.50mm hook and M, make 2ch.
Round 1: Miss 1ch, 6dc in last ch, do not join with a sl
st.
Note: As rem of leg is worked in a spiral, mark end of
each round with a safety pin or movable stitch marker.
Round 2: (2dc in next dc) 6 times. 12dc.
Round 3: (2dc in next dc, 1dc in next dc) 6 times. 18dc.
Round 4: (2dc in next dc, 1dc in each of next 2dc) 6
times. 24dc.
Round 5: 1dc in each of next 24dc.
Rep last round until Leg measures 10cm from beg, sl st in
each of next 2dc. Fasten off.
EARS (MAKE 2, BEG AT TIP)
Note: Count turning ch as 1tr.
Using 3.50mm hook and M, make 6ch.
Row 1: Miss 3ch, 1tr in each ch to end. 4tr.
Row 2: (1dc, 1ch, 1tr) in first tr, 2tr in each tr to end.
8tr.
Row 3: (1dc, 1ch, 1tr) in first tr, 1tr in each st to last st,
2tr in top of turning ch. 10tr.
Row 4: As row 3. 12tr.
Row 5: (1dc, 1ch) in first tr, Dec, 1tr in each st to last 3
sts, Dec, 1tr in top of turning ch. 10 sts.
Row 6: As row 5. 8 sts.
Work 1 round dc around all edges of Ear, sl st in first dc.
Fasten off.
TAIL
Using 3.5mm hook and 2 strands of M tog, make a length
of ch 9cm long.
Fasten off, leaving enough yarn for attaching to body.
MAKING UP
Do not press. With wrong sides together and using a
flat seam, sew outer edge of back to front at base of
mane, adding stuffing before completing seam.
Add stuffing to legs, then over sew top edge.
Sew on legs behind mane at lower edge of back (as
pictured). Make a small pleat in base of ears, then sew
in position.
Using M, make a small tassel, unravelling yarn ends so
tassel is fluffy.
Attach securely to end of tail, then sew tail to centre of
back. Using C1, make 2 medium pom-poms and attach
to front as pictured.
Using C3 and Satin Stitch, embroider eyes. Using C3
and Straight Stitch, embroider mouth and claws.
