Garter Stitch (= k every row) for 9
rows.
Change to 4.00mm needles.
Next Row: RS - Knit.
Next Row: Purl.
Rep last 2 rows for Stst until piece
measures 21 (23, 24, 26, 28)cm
from beg,** (or required length).
Change to 3.75mm needles.
Garter Stitch (= k every row) for 4
rows.
Next Row: RS - buttonhole row: K4
sts, yo, k2tog, k4 sts, yo, k2tog; k to
last 12 sts, k2tog, yo, k4, k2tog, yo,
k4.
Garter Stitch 3 more rows.
Cast off loosely.
FRONT
Work as for Back from ** to **.
Change to 3.75mm needles.
Garter Stitch (= k every row) for 8
rows.
Cast off loosely.
SLEEVES
With 3.75mm needles, cast on 32
(34, 36, 38, 40) sts.
Garter Stitch 7 rows.
Change to 4.00mm needles.
Beg with a k row on RS, Stst for 4 rows.
Cont in Stst and inc 1 st each end
next row, then every 4th (4th, 4th,
5th, 5th) row until 48 (50, 52, 54,
56) sts on needle.
Stocking st straight until sleeve
measures 14 (15 17, 18, 19)cm from
beg (or required length), end with a
WS row.
Cast off loosely.
MAKING UP
Join shoulder at armhole edge by
overlapping back upper band with
front buttonhole band.
Fold sleeve in half and mark centre at
top of sleeve.
Pin sleeve tops to each side of back
and fronts (slightly stretching sleeve
edges) matching centre sleeve to
shoulder point.
Join side and sleeve seams.
Sew on 4 buttons, matching
buttonholes.
