WORKING PATTERN
FRONT
Using 3.25mm needles, cast on
113 (125, 137, 149) sts.
Row 1: RS - K2, *P1, K2; rep from
* to end.
Row 2: WS – P2, *K1, P2; rep from
* to end.
These 2 rows form K2, P1 rib pattern.
Rep these 2 rows twice (6 rows).
Next Row: RS – Now working in St st
throughout, work straight until length
measures 10cm (from beg), ending on
a WS row.

Shape bodice
Next Row: RS – (dec) K2, sl1, K1,
psso, K to last 4 sts, K2tog, K2.
This row sets patt for dec.

Dec 2 sts as set on foll 6th rows, 6
times. 99 (111, 123, 135) sts).
Work 15 rows straight.
Next Row: RS – (inc) K2, M1, K to
last 2 sts, M1, K2.
This row sets patt for inc.
Inc 2 sts as set on foll 6th rows, 4
times. 109 (121, 133, 145), 77
shaping rows).
Cont working straight until length
(from beg) measures 38cm, ending on
a WS row.

Shape armholes
Next Row: RS – Cast off 6 (7, 8, 9)
sts at beg next 2 rows.
Next Row: RS – (dec) K2, sl1, K1,
psso, work to last 4 sts, K2tog, K2.
This row sets patt for dec.

BUTTONBAND
With 3.75mm needles and RS facing,
begat left front neck edge, pick up


and k103 (109, 115, 121, 125) sts
down straight front edge.
Row 1:WS – P1; *k1, p1; rep from *
to end.
Row 2:K1, *p1, k1; rep from * to end.
Rib further 5 rows.
Cast off loosely in rib.

BUTTONHOLE BAND
With 3.75mm needles and RS facing,
begat right front cast on edge, pick
up and k103 (109, 115, 121, 125)
sts up straight front edge.
Row 1:WS – P1; *k1, p1; rep from *
to end.
Row 2:K1, *p1, k1; rep from * to end.
Rib 1 more row.
Note: Ensure yo’s are not sloppy
otherwise buttonhole will be too
large.
Buttonhole row:RS – Rib to last
36 sts, [k2tog, yo twice, skp, rib 10]
twice, k2tog, yo twice, skp; rib 4.
Rib further 3 rows.
Cast off loosely in rib.

NECKBAND
With RS facing and 3.75mm needles,
begat right front outer neck edge,
omitting half of the front band
width, pick up and k43 sts up
right front, 12 sts down back neck,
k the back neck holder 18 (20,
22, 22, 24) sts, and dec 1 st at
centre back neck, pick up and k12 sts
up back neck, 43 sts down front neck,
omitting again half of front band. 127
(129, 131, 131, 133) sts.
Row 1:WS – P1; *k1, p1; rep from
* to end.
Row 2:K1, *p1, k1; rep from * to end.
Rib further 3 rows.
Cast off loosely in rib.

Sew in sleeves, join sleeve seams.
Sew on buttons.
