WORKING PATTERN
PONCHO(MAKE 2 PIECES, BEG AT
LOWER EDGE)
Using 6.50mm needles, cast on 101sts.
Knit 1 row (WS).

Beg Patt
Row 1: RS – K1, * yfwd, K2tog, rep
from * to end.
Row 2: Purl.
Row 3: K2tog, knit to last 2 sts,
K2tog. = Decrease 2 sts.
Row 4: P2tog, purl to last 2 sts,
P2tog. = Decrease 2 sts.
Row 5: K2tog, knit to last 2 sts,
K2tog. = Decrease 2 sts.
Row 6: Purl.v

Rows 1 to 6 incl form patt.
Cont in patt until for 41 sts rem,
ending with a 6th row.
Knit 1 row.
Cast off knitways.

RUFFLE
With RS facing and using 6.00mm
needles, knit up 101 sts evenly along
cast on edge.
Row 1: WS – Knit.
Row 2: Knit into front and back of
each st. 202 sts.
Note – If this number of sts does not
fit comfortably on pair of needles, we
suggest using a circular needle. Work
in rows, not rounds.
Knit 4 rows garter st (every row knit).
Row 7: K1, * yfwd, K2tog, rep from *
to last st, K1.
Row 8: Knit. Cast off.
Work ruffle along cast on edge of
other piece.

MAKING UP
Do not press. Using a wool sewing
needle and back-stitch, join the 2
pieces tog along angled (shaped)
edges, noting to carefully match
pattern – this forms centre front and
back seams.
Sew in all loose ends.
