A

lthough attracting clubs from all corners
of the country, no one travelled further
than the Dutch rink of Henny and Marina
Van De Burgt and Thea and Sjaak Snel.
Their enthusiasm won many friends and
admirers when they again came from Holland

to compete in the Warners Champion of
Champions.
They eased through the round robin stage,
including a hard fought 7-7 draw against Bill
Ward's rink. Drawn together again in the
quarter finals the Dutch travelling supporters

were hopeful as they held a brief 4-3 lead,
before Ward moved away to win 15-8.
“We have all enjoyed every minute at Lakeside”
said Thea Snell. “We will certainly be travelling
back and hope we, and perhaps other bowlers
from Holland, can be involved in the finals.”
