Heacham Manor is full of charm from the
moment you enter the drive leading to
the Elizabethan manor house fronted by a
striking statue of a golfer. This north Norfolk
venue has so much going for it, but probably
the two key appeal is the fact it provides great
value-for-money.... and its very location.
With 45 comfortably spacious rooms,
Heacham Manor is situated just down
the coast from the popular seaside town
of Hunstanton which of course boasts a
wonderful links just a short drive from
another top links, Royal West Norfolk at
Brancaster. Also within comfortable driving

distance are clifftop layouts Sheringham and
Royal Cromer while King’s Lynn is arguably
East Anglia’s finest inland course.
That makes Heacham Manor the ideal
base to discover the area’s crown golfing
jewels – you can book a North West Norfolk
Tour involving ‘sunny Hunny’ and King’s Lynn.
In addition the venue has its very own, fast-
maturing course, with a variety of linksy and
parkland holes. Unusually for a coastal layout
it has several lakes, most notably at the par-3
7th, while a meandering river could cause
havoc on the challenging closing stretch.
The tee at the par-4 14th has had to be

moved owing to a new housing development
but overall the course has a good variety of
holes with the pick of the par 3s being the
15th – played from an elevated tee to a green
sitting yards away from the manor house.
The venue has benefited from recent
improvements, including the refurbishment of
the main, excellent-value Mulberry restaurant
and opening of the Avocet bar and spa, both
housed in a former barn.
