The fantastic climate
It’s a year-round destination with over
300 days of sunshine. The summer is
guaranteed to be ‘swimming pool’ hot every
day yet spring and autumn are also especially
nice, with May and September lovely times to
visit. Even the winter months are warm, with
only brief spells of rain.2
The easy and cheap access
You can fi nd cheap fl ights with various
airlines from all over Britain – ranging from
the largest hub airports down to the smallest
regional ones – to Faro and then super-fast
A22 motorway takes you to your resort within
an hour.3
The distinctive golf on offer
There is variety as well as quality and
quantity to the Algarve’s golf offering. The
selection of courses are laid out in a variety of
landscapes – ranging from seaside to
parklands to rolling hillside. That means it is
very easy to have a different golf experience
every day of your trip if you wish.4
The great value on offer
Despite the high quality of courses, the
standard of accommodation and the level of
cuisine, the Algarve is not expensive. That’s
not just an apocryphal tale from visiting a few
courses and restaurants 10 years ago; that is
via an offi cial survey by the Post Offi ce.5

course packages you can choose, reducing
the cost of green fees. You can also easily

The terrifi c local food
‘Cataplanas’ and the ‘Caldeirada fi sh
stews’ are delicacies in the Algarve. Then
there’s the tuna steak of Tavira to the octopus
of Santa Luzia. The Algarve excels in seafood.
Local cockles, razor clams, oysters, squid and
cuttlefi sh are also part of the region’s
longstanding fi shing tradition.7
The beaches
You could spend months exploring all the
beaches. From east to west there’s a stretch of
coastline – over 200 kilometres of it – to suit
everybody, from sheltered dunes to rocky
coves, from tiny bays to vast stretches of open
sands, from shallow lagoons to the crashing
surf of the wild Atlantic.8

You will fi nd somewhere to stay easily,
no matter what your budget is – and whether
you want apartment, villa, hotel or campsite!9
The off-course attractions
You can be thrilled by jeep safaris or river
canoeing or head to a Water Park, of which
there are many in the region.10
The nightlife
Vilamoura harbour is HQ for trendy
bars and restaurants while Alburfeira offers a
