DATES FOR THE DIARY

f you’ve always been taken by the jet-set lifestyle, there’s a
good chance you’ll be brimming with envy at the amount of
air miles Tommy Fleetwood and co will be clocking up over
the next 12 months. The European Tour will pass through 30
countries, across four continents and stop off at 51 tournaments.
At least 200 million will be up for grabs, and then there’s the
small matter of the Ryder Cup in September.

THE RYDER CUP
Two captains, 24 players and Le National
course which was built for matchplay. If ever
you want to book a long weekend off work
next year, September 28-30 is it.

THE MAJORS
Can Garcia become only the fourth man to
defend the Masters? Will Rory or Spieth
complete the grand slam? Or will an
Englishman join the winner’s circle again? So
many questions, so much to look forward to.

EUROPEAN GOLF TEAM
CHAMPIONSHIPS
Staged over five days on the
PGA Centenary course, the
inaugural event will feature a
men’s, ladies and mixed team
competition incorporating stroke play
and match play formats. The dates do
overlap with the US PGA Championship,
so you might want to get your excuses ready
for watching golf in the morning, afternoon
and evening.

BELGIAN KNOCKOUT
If you enjoyed GolfSixes, you’ll probably like
this new event for 2018. It starts off with two
18-hole rounds before the leading 64 players
go head-to-head in knockout strokeplay
matches contested over nine holes.
Thomas Pieters is the host.

WORLD TOUR CHAMPIONSHIP
The season will conclude at the Jumeriah
Golf Estates in Dubai, so you’re guaranteed
to see a star-studded field battling to be
crowned Race to Dubai champion.
