2 Wind up
Place a club across the
front of your shoulders.
Make your regular
backswing coil, though
note the balls under your
feet limit your mobility.
Feel how those two balls
lock you into a balanced
position at the top.

1 Sole
savers
Take your
regular golf
stance. Now
place a golf
ball under
your lead foot
toe cap and a
second under
your trail foot
heel. These two
balls fortify a
centred balance
point, helping
you make and
feel a poised
and controlled
backswing
rotation.

Centred rotation
While pressure increases
under your trail foot as
you turn, good backswing
balance sees that
pressure remain central in
both feet, not slipping into
the toes or heels.

Better balance,
better ballstriking
Repeat this drill, focusing
simply on improving your
awareness of what a well-
balanced rotation feels like.
When you feel you have the
feeling trapped, remove the
balls and hit a few shots. As
your balance improves, so
will your ballstriking.
