● It is also very important to be aware that the use of these systems is illegal in some
countries and under review in others.


A purpose-built enclosure


If fencing a large area is not possible, another option is to erect a purpose-built
enclosure (Fig. 10.2). The structure can be built attached to the house, allowing the
cat to access it directly via a cat flap or door, or built at a distance from the house,
which the cat can either access via a run or be transported there and back by the
owner.
