free to rotate, I decided that
I’d rather glue it in position.
With the upper turret, Airix
threw some really nice details
here. After I had removed the
window mask, I cleaned the
windows with Novus 1 Plastic
Cleaner. When the windows
were cleaned, they were glued
into place. I then added some
Ushi Van Der Rosten rigging,
which I had been wanting to
try out, and it was perfect. The
engines have some beautiful
details to them. They honestly
reminded me of resin quality
pieces. A lot of the detail is
diicult to see through the
smaller cowling opening
and the larger propellers.
So, I painted them XF-1 Flat
Black, and dry brushed some
silver onto the raised areas.
One problem I encountered
was the pins that hold the
propellers in place. They are
a bit too thin, but this was
easily solved. Once the engines
and cowlings were added to
the nacelles all that was left
was to add the propellers and
this model was complete.
CONCLUSION
This is such a fantastic kit, that
I really can’t get over how well
everything is designed and
its. So, all I can say is that I
hope Airix will bring out more
variants, because this is a kit I
want to build again, and again.
