etgear’s WNDR3700 has been our favorite router since

May 2010. We thought we’d have our hands on a

refreshed version of Netgear’s best product weeks ago, but

the company tells us it won’t be available in quantity until

later this quarter. The expected fl ood of three-stream routers

(capable of raw throughput of 450Mb/s) hasn’t material-

ized, either. And now we’re hearing about an entirely new

class of hybrid router that combines IEEE 802.11n wireless

with IEEE P1901 power-line networking. But if you have

to buy a router today, nothing we’ve seen compares to the
