As we approach a quarter of a century since the tragic passing

of Rory Gallagher, a brand-new album of rare and unheard

material aims to shed fresh light on the legendary Irish guitarist’s

love of the blues. The man responsible for combing through

Rory’s vast archive of recordings is his nephew, Daniel Gallagher.

We spent a few illuminating hours in the company of Daniel

and a selection of classics and rarities from his uncle’s collection

to learn about compiling a labour of love, how Rory was ahead

of his time in the guitar collecting stakes and why he was more

than just a magician on the guitar...
