DESIGN AND FUNCTION: This streamlined dome comes com-
plete with a mounting fl ange through which the coax connection is
made. Its included coax came with F-connectors pre-installed. The
lightweight design can fi t conveniently on a deck or hardtop.
AMPLIFIER: Glomex provided an amplifi er that it says automati-
cally adjusts gain output based on signal strength—more strength,
less gain. We discovered it picked up channels we didn’t initially
discover on the Shakespeare systems before adjusting the gain.
Glomex amplifi ers are only 12/24-volt-capable, but a handy boater
could probably adapt a 120-volt DC converter to it.

BEST APPLICATIONS: Boats under 30 feet and also ideal for RV
use. It could be temporarily mounted on a staff in a vertical rod

DESIGN AND FUNCTION: We liked the Jetson-era look and
the glossy fi nish. Coax supplied with the unit requires installation
of the F-connectors, but that allows easier fi shing of cable and
cutting the cable to length. Mounting hardware is optional, and the
coax connection is protected inside the 1-inch-by-14-thread-count
fi tting. Several channel scans gave different results, fi nding from
55 to 75 channels.
AMPLIFIER: This 12/24-volt amplifi er has two outputs for mul-
tiple TV installations. We are surprised Glomex doesn’t provide a
120-volt option.
