OnlythendidI realisethe
silky,soothing,somnolent
tonesofthelovelyMsJones
werea problem.I drovethe
restofthewayinsilence,a
bitbleary,butneversleeping.
I’mhappytosayJones’
music,ashasbeennotedby
othercritics,hasbecome
moreinterestingwithtime.
Shestillhasa voiceredolent
ofluxurysoftfurnishings,
butonBeginAgain(Blue
Note),sheoftenmovesbe-
yondthecomfortofsweet,
predictablelovesongs.

drivernotsitupalittle
straighterwhenshewonders
