This works much like the
Type tool. But rather than
creating normal letters, the
words come out as a selection. As
with any type tool, you begin by
choosing a font, setting a size and
style. Then you can start typing.
Once done, simply click the tick or
choose another tool, and the letters
will become an active selection.

TOP TIP
While using any type tool in Photoshop, hold Cmd/Ctrl to temporarily bring up
the bounding box, allowing you to alter the size and shape as you type.
