trim adds a classy
custom lookforged pistons, unleaded heads
and a 009 distributor. Fuel is fed
through a modified 34 Pict carb’
and a set of extractors were fitted.
The engine is coupled to an L-Bug
transmission, with a 3.875:1 diff ’ and
modified CV axle shaft assemblies.
When the electrics were converted
to 12volt, Wayne also fit a 12volt
flywheel and starter. The suspension
is a combination of a modified
‘68 front beam with adjusters and
Holden Commodore front hubs and
discs and modified rear drums for
the Holden PCD and aftermarket
wheels.
Under the experienced
guidance of the Chief I began
the metamorphosis of Brian; it
all seemed simple initially until I
discovered that cutting out a tiny
piece of rust was often associated
with dealing with a larger area of
rust lurking in an area that was the
frontman for even larger patches
