camper windows. Though I love
the look, I decided against safari
windows, when it rains here it really
rains - show me a set of safaris that
does not leak!
Deb my wife came on board at
this stage, helping choose colours
and interior fittings etc. We decided
on two tone Dulux Sulphur Yellow
and VW Candy White for a happy
sunshine look, set off with chrome
Deluxe bus trim to add a touch
of class.
On good recommendation we
approached Mark Attard of Black
Needle Upholstery to design and
trim out the interior – our brief to
him was for basically a day van for
travel and picnicking and the result
was simply amazing. The cab seats
and rear bench seat have all been re-
padded and re-upholstered in cloth
and vinyl whilst the passenger area
sports a floating timber floor and
storage trunk with additional seating
space and more cushions. The whole
vehicle has been dynamat lined for
sound proofing and then lined with
coloured vinyl and cloth panels - the
transformation from original bare
metal is amazing and quieter! The
front compartment has floor lining
- carpet and protective vinyl and a
timber encrusted storage binnacle/
armrest with internal access
to power front brake hydraulic
equipment.
The most spectacular finish
internally is undeniably the roof
lining; a feature of beauty and class
