visit previous owner Mick and re-
introduce Brian), returning in four
days and handling the holiday traffic
with aplomb. ‘Brian’ steps out now
most weekends locally for coffee
and has attended several birthday
parties and even weddings. He did
return to Fairfield for VW nationals
and sat quietly in amongst his more
experience peers and although not
laude in his new outfit, did manage
a photo bomb next to a featured bay
window in VMA magazine!
We have been blessed with
his health, which is carefully

monitored and maintained by
a great young mechanic - Ryan
Heymans. Under his preparation
we recently completed 2000 miles
round Victoria and NSW south coast
without a splutter.
The life of ‘Brian’ has been a life
event for our previously non-Kombi
family and with the recent addition
of grandchildren to the clan, the
search for smaller versions of Brian
is on. I still get a tingle of excitement
each time I back the Kombi out of the
garage wondering where our next
adventure with Brian will take us.
