Although Kay chose the colour of
the work surface and cupboard
material, they basically left the rest
to Colin and his crew to create,
having outlined their basic must-
haves. Three months later when they
collected it they could hardly believe
it was the same bus! The stylish
gloss cream units worked really well
with the red and cream upholstery,
bringing in a very contemporary
feel, especially with the granite style
worktop. Designed from scratch,
there are loads of great finishing
touches: twin storage drawers above
the rear deck, a slide out storage
rack, recessed catches, brushed
aluminium tambour doors, over
window shelf and even a storage box
that doubles as an extra seat and can
sit in the cab gangway.
After fitting 30mm lowering
springs Mike then found and fitted
a cheap set of 15 “ Audi Alloy wheels
with VW logo centre caps and added
spacers to give a chunkier look, to
add to the mild custom styling. Then
it was off to North Yorkshire and the
Lake District for the first adventure
in their transformed camper.Mike concludes by saying, “I do
most maintenance myself. We love
this bus and will never get bored of
it, we love driving it and the great
space inside is very usable, the front
passenger seat swivels which really
adds to a cosy feel when relaxing
