1969 MICROBUS

factory colour scheme),

polished Empi Fuchs, an original
style Microbus style interior with
a twist and custom stance with
narrowed beam all add up to
something a bit special ...
Not a lot is known about its
previous history, though the M plate
and birth certificate provide some
clues. Built on May 30th 1969 as
a 7 seat Microbus (Model 221) in
Emden (as were many buses due
for export at this time) it had the
usual standard US export package
M425 (twin reversing lights, MPH
speedo, sealed beam headlamps,
hazard warning lights, mounting for
safety belts, laminated windscreen,
ram protection, dual circuit brake
system) and also the option of
three opening vent windows in the
sliding door and in the opposite two
passenger compartment windows
(M508). Another M code, M042,
refers to the tyres being exempt
from customs duties. The addition
of a white roof would also have been
an optional extra when the bus was
