Adhesives

If you’re confused by all the different adhesives on the market –
here’s a guide for which glue to use for which project!

2 Glue sticks are
slow-drying which
gives you time to
reposition your piece
if you need to.
They’re great for
securing small paper
items like die-cuts or
punched pieces.

1cWhen working
with ribbon, add
the tape directly to
the card (not the
ribbon) then layer
the ribbon over
the top – this will
stop puckering
and distortion.

1b When using
double-sided tape
to attach a layer,
peel only half of
the backing away
and position it,
then when you are
happy pull away
the rest and press
down to secure.

1 Double-sided tape
is a clean option
and has a strong
bond, it won’t warp
your card like water-
based glues and it
also comes in a
multitude of widths.
You can use it for
most materials.

3 Glue dots come in a
variety of strengths
and sizes and are
great for attaching
embellishments,
especially small clear
ones because they
can’t be seen when
secured – just ensure
you use a dot the
same size as the
embellishment.

4 Mounting tape comes
in a range of
thicknesses and is for
raising elements – you
can stack layers of this
tape to give extra
height or to help level
out uneven
embellishments.
