CHAD’S NEXT MOVE?

No one really knows what Chad Reed is thinking. He’s become the master
of deception on social media making people think they know what he’s
about to do next. But, the reality is, he keeps his cards close to his chest,
yet still, we speculate. The two-time AMA SX champ conceded in a press
conference after the Atlanta supercross that this could be his last year
of professional supercross. He has always been open about the prospect
of retirement but has been quick to squash the idea of putting an end
date on his career. Our gut feeling is that we could be witnessing his
farewell tour. The big question is, what will he do next? We’ve speculated
before in Top of the Goss as to Reed’s next move because his social
media activity always raises some interesting questions. Late last year,
in an Instagram comment, he joked about employing Toby Price to train
him up to race Finke. It’s not the fi rst time Chad has indicated a desire to
race the Alice Springs classic. He also recently posted a photo of the
Boost Mobile Racing car ahead of the new Supercars championship,
saying that they should ‘slap some 22’s on it.’ It seems unlikely that Chad
would return to Australia for good after living his entire adult life in the
USA, but it would be fi tting, wouldn’t it?
