MuchofthebookcentresonRPG’s
WildfowlingDiarythatcametolightonly
recently,butit goesmuchwiderthanthat.
GeorgeGouldandWilliamAbdyBeauclerk
wereamongthosewhouseda yachtas
a wildfowlingbase.Beauclerkevenhad
a steam-drivenpuntandthere’sa lovely
photoofmygreatgrandfatheron her helm,
completewithyachtingcap.
Oneofthemarvelsofthesportwasthe
puntgun.Thebestwerebuiltbygunmakers
suchasHolland&Holland,whowenow
associatewithbestshotguns.Thefascinating
storyofhowRPG’sfavouritedoublegun
