Although this brand new 93ft craft
still sneaks under the 24m waterline
length for regulatory reasons, it is
to all intents and purposes a mini
superyacht.
The key differences between this
new 920 and its smaller siblings are
a separate bridge deck housed in a
raised pilothouse, a proper crew area
forward on the lower deck and a main-
deck owner’s suite.
It’s the latter that will be of primary
interest to would-be owners and
chances are they’ll be suitably
impressed. By running the side deck

walkways up and over this area, the

master cabin enjoys the full 22ft beam

of the hull. The bed itself is aft facing

and mounted on a recessed support

so that it appears to float several

inches above the deep pile carpet.

Elsewhere it’s business as usual,

with a grand single-level open-plan

saloon and dining area occupying

the rear half of the main deck with a

separate crew-style galley and a day

heads providing a buffer between it

and the master suite. A companionway

leads down from here to the guest

cabins, comprising a double and twin

forward with a full-beam VIP further

aft. An abundance of mirrors and

striped Zebrano wood bulkheads on

the Düsseldorf show boat gave this

area a slightly 1970s vibe, albeit with

a suitably modern, luxurious twist.

The flybridge is quite a sight, not

least because of its sheer length

and the fact that there is still a proper

outside helm up here so you can enjoy

the full wind-in-the-hair experience

(or more likely your skipper can).

Engine options up to a pair of 2,435hp

MTU 16Vs give an impressive top

speed of 30 knots but if it’s thrills

Ferretti 920

you want, the Williams 345 SportJet

in the tender garage is probably still

a better bet. The 920 is first and

foremost about luxury and on that

front, it certainly looks set to deliver.
