Not only well designed and built, the panel felt

Ribelleably fulfils her experienced owners’

request for superyacht racing and fast cruising

credentials. Her well-planned general

arrangement is also an achievement, equitably

divided between the aft crew area and forward

guest area with no noticeable intrusion from

technical aspects such as her lifting centreboard.

Her futuristic glass-topped saloon that fills the

yacht with light is also a (literal) highlight.

Technology earned Pink Gin her

advantage. Built from carbon fibre

and displacing just 250 tonnes, her hull

and rig are a triumph of structural

engineering, with a fore and aft

deflection of a mere 76 millimetres,

despite the 300 tonne rig loading

imposed by her 68 metre high carbon

mast. Two large hull openings –

a guest’s boarding platform to port and

a balcony in the master cabin forward –

contribute hugely to the functionality

of the yacht, but further add to the

complexity of the engineering.

Also notable is her power-assisted

“force feedback steering” system that

operates over a wireless link and gives

the helmsman an accurate assessment

of the yacht’s trim and balance.
