Born in Hawaii,
raised in New
Zealand and now
based in London,
Jef started
photographing
superyachts in 2003.
With more than 100
magazine covers
to his name, he’s now one of
the foremost photographers
and creative designers in the
business. This month he shoots
Laurentia (page 146) and Cyclone
(page 118).
What was the most impressive
feature of each boat for you?
The large windows in
Laurentia’s owner’s suite allow
an impressive view either side
of the yacht. And I especially
love Cyclone’s wooden floors
What’s the most special
location you’ve ever worked in?
My home country, New Zealand

    The Faroe Islands. The scenery
    there looks stunning!


Mark has worked extensively
as a visual artist for the past
15 years, and also does a lot of
humanitarian work. This month
he shoots our fashion story
focusing on luggage (page 162).
What are your travel essentials?
My camera always gets prime
place. I shoot mainly on medium
format film these days so there’s
a lot of chunky kit, especially
with all the film I need
Your best packing advice?
Pack light: I lay out everything
I think I need... and then halve it
What do you most fear
happening on a shoot?
My equipment not working
when I’m on location in the
middle of nowhere
