Portrait Revolutionis
the culmination of an
international collaborative
project, called Portrait
Party, started by Julia Kay.
In 2010 she invited artists
all over the world to make
portraits of each other and
share them online. The
party now has over 1000
members from more than
55 countries and since its
inception over 50,000
portraits have been
produced. Portrait Revolutionincludes the work of 200 of
these artists who share here their comments and inspiration,
with advice on how to handle difficult portrait issues in a variety
of media. There are pencil portraits and digital portraits, prints
and watercolours, with styles ranging from the traditional to
abstract. This is a fascinating insight into the work of artists all
over the world.
