The basic iPad is great value, especially

now it’s been updated with a powerful

A13 processor and iPadOS 15. It includes

Scribble handwriting recognition with

the £89 Apple Pencil. Storage isn’t

expandable; consider 256GB at £459.

ALTERNATIVE iPad Mini With an even

better, but smaller, screen than the

10.2in iPad, the Mini also supports

the Pencil and has 64GB of storage.

China’s Realme has made a phone with

a powerful processor, excellent battery

life, bright screen and a 50-megapixel

camera that takes great photos. It’s

more expensive than our former

favourite (below), but its superior

performance justifies this extra cost.
