In The Arts is a portfolio style publication showcasing visual artists
in a digital format.


30 Americans was an exhibit at the Cincinnati Art Museum in 2016
of 30 African-American artists from around the country including
Kehinde Wiley, Glenn Ligon, and Carrie Mae Weems.
Jarrettsville Maryland sculptor Patrick M. McGuire’s wood sculptures
shapes play on water drops, flowing waves, clouds, and the sky.
Baltimore artist Gloria Macks’ paintings display a spiritual quality,
sometimes enigmatic, that varies from the abstract to the surreal.
Morgan State University art professor Eric Briscoe’s illustrations are
characterizations of his thoughts about interactions with people and his
inner personalities.
“Visions of our 44th President” features 10 bust-painted sculptures
including artists Joyce Scott, Poncho Brown and Nannette Carter. The
sculptures first appeared at Detroit’s Charles H. Wright Museum of Afri-
can American History.
New York artist Che Baraka’s conceptual and vivid artwork draw on
his spiritual research in shaping various forms and patterns in creating.
