ew York artist Che Baraka was
born in Chicago Illinois. He re-
ceived a BFA at New York’s
School of Visual Arts and then
went on to New York University to re-
ceive an MFA in Arts Administration.
His early New York influences were Leroy
Clarke, Ed Spriggs, Romare Bearden, Jacob
Lawrence, Faith Rheingold, Benny An-
