Government of the People’s Republic of China and the Government of the
United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland for the Avoidance of
Double Taxation and the Prevention of Fiscal Evasion with Respect to Income
Taxes.
June 28: Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao and German Chancellor Angela Merkel
co-chaired the 1st Sino-German Government Consultation in Berlin. After
meeting, both sides released a Joint Press Communiquéof the 1st Sino-German
Government Consultation. Both sides signed the Sino-German Joint
Declaration Concerning the Establishment of an Electric Automobile Strategic
Partnership. Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao attended and delivered a speech in the
6th Sino-German Forum for Economic and Technological Cooperation.
July 5: Chinese Vice-president Xi Jinping met with the Party of European
Socialists high-level delegation led by President Rasmussen in the Great Hall of
the People, Beijing.
September 8: In London, China and the UK signed the Memorandum of
Understanding between the Chinese Government and the British Government
Concerning Intensified Cooperation in the Field of Infrastructure.
September 14: Chinese Vice-premier Li Keqiang attended the China-Europe
People-to-people Friendly Cooperation Dialogue opening ceremony and deliv-

September 27: Chinese State Councilor Dai Bingguo attending the China-UK
Strategic Dialogue in the UK held talks with British Prime Minister David
Cameron.
October 19: The 6th China-EU Business Cooperation Fair was opened in
Chengdu, Sichuan Province.
October 24: The three-day EU-China Youth Leaders Summit was concluded in
Beijing, during which the two sides passed the EU-China Youth Initiative.
October 30: Chinese President Hu Jintao arrived in Vienna to kick off a visit to
Austria.
November 2: Chinese President Hu Jintao met with French President Nicolas
Sarkozy.
November 7: The 2nd meeting of the 2nd China-EU Political Party Summit was
opened in Brussels.
November 29: The 1st China-EU Forum co-organized by the Mission of China
