went on behind the scenes. The windmills of the
Netherlands have been interpreted as leaf stalks in the
wind, with the clod of earth representative of the map
of Holland. What a different yet contextual
composition!

Garcia has often walked the off-beat path scouting for
locations and backdrops for her photography. A lot of
her land and seascapes are Florida inspired, and she
does a different take every time she lifts the camera to
shoot. A breathtaking view of the “Grassy Water
Preserve” in Florida, with a ceiling of scalding clouds,
resplendent in the vibrant colors of earth, water, and

sky, is enough to transport one to the locale. “Miami
Bay,” with its azure, tranquil waters, is captured at dusk
when a lone Pelican sits atop a pillar. This hauntingly
lonely concept is well depicted with the shadowed
Pelican in relief, gazing longingly at far shores.

It is no wonder then that Garcia has managed to
accrue various awards, and has made a place for
herself as an artist of the photographic medium.
Careful planning and composition along with the smart
use of contrasts are the hallmarks of her work, and
even though monochromatic, the effectual visions she
dishes out are an expression of her ingenuity.
