Westport wins inside and out

Westport has its own cabinet maker in
Port Angeles, Washington, where the
builder does all the interior woodwork
and custom furniture pieces for its
yachts. The Westport craftsmen
worked with Meltdown Glass, based
in Tempe, Arizona, to make two
of Lyons Pride’s custom tables. The
dining table is made of walnut veneer
laid in a radial pattern and the saloon’s
cofee table in macassar ebony and
stainless steel. Both pieces have
a textured glass piece encased at their
centres – and the owners chose
seashells that the artists at Meltdown
Glass used to create them. The glass
studio, which specialises in kiln-cast
art glass for architectural and
residential applications, also made
the frosted glass panels with a rain-like
motif. Backlit, they serve as accents
in the cabins and privacy screens
in the master’s en suite.
