FEBRUARY 2018

Riva is being quite the tease with the newest model
announced recently by showing just a few taut lines of the
90-footer-to-be. It’s enough, though, to make out the rakish
lines that Officina Italiana Design has bequeathed to the
builder’s latest flybridge yachts.
Hull No 1 will have twin MTU 16V 2000 M96s for a top
speed expected to flirt with the 30s. Other power options are
available, with further choice anticipated for the yet-to-be-
seen interior layout. Seakeeper gyrostabilizers will be
optional and the Riva 90 will be able to embark a Williams
395 tender. ferrettigroup.com

TURKISH DELIGHT
Turkish builder Bilgin’s new 263ft flagship has been lifted out at West
Istanbul Marina for fitting out ahead of its late-2019 delivery. Unique
Yacht Design is responsible for exterior styling and naval architecture
and H2 Yacht Design designed the interior – the same team responsible
for the yacht’s sistership, trailing six months behind. Built to comply
with MCA and LY3 rules, the 1,600GT yacht will have a range of up to
5,000 nautical miles and a top speed of 18 knots. bilginyacht.com

WHAT’S
HOT
&
WHAT’S
KNOT

TWINKLING TOPSIDES
Keizer Yachts has
concocted a hull coating
that contains real
diamonds to create a
“multichromatic
reflection.” Real life paint
specialist AkzoNobel is
reportedly going to
produce it. It’s so absurd
that we kind of like it. Hope
it comes with a free pair
of sunglasses.

WHAT JET LAG?
With tech from
Stanford University,
the Lumos Smart Sleep
Mask lets you set your
own sleep schedule
using an app –
whatever daylight is
doing outside. Set it for
your flight and wake up
in the right time zone.

GRAVE ROBBERY
Warships containing the
remains of Allied and
Japanese World War II
servicemen are being
destroyed by salvagers,
says The Guardian. The
wrecks around Indonesia,
Malaysia and Singapore
are being blown apart
for scrap metal by divers.

Allied Marine is once again fully back in
the the Ferretti family fold. In business
since 1945 and with $5 billion in
transactions, Allied Marine has been
dancing with the Ferretti Group for
quite some time. To take advantage of
rising boat sales in the US, the Ferretti
Group recently rejigged its organization
and made its brokerage arm Allied
Marine an exclusive dealer of Ferretti
Yachts, Itama, Mochi Craft, Pershing
and Riva, as well as an authorized
dealer of Custom Line and CRN in the
all-important US East Coast region.
President Jon Burkard is overseeing
the brokerage side of things, while
Justin Blue, most recently COO of
Ferretti Group Americas, handles new
yacht sales more specifically.
