BOAT LIFE

here seems to be a cornucopia out there of
smartwatches to choose from, be it ultra-
luxurious, high-tech or somewhere in
between, all with a dazzling range of functions.
For those craving something lavish, there’s the Louis
Vuitton Tambour Horizon, its first smartwatch. Unlike
other luxury smartwatches on the market, Louis
Vuitton hewed closely to the brand’s travel ethos and
added a slew of dedicated functions like My Flight,
which keeps track of all your travel information, and
LV Guide, which gives you insider information on
major cities like New York, London and Beijing.
The Tambour Horizon comes in three variations, all
powered by Android Wear: Graphite, Monogram and
Black. Their faces and dials are customizable, and there
are numerous strap options, so you can match your
Tambour to your Neverfull bag in Monogram, or to a
Keepall Bandoulière 55 in Damier Graphite.
For those who want more bleeding-edge technology,
the new Apple Watch Series 3 now features cellular
functionality, meaning you have the freedom to send
and receive texts, answer phone calls and receive
notifications even when you’re not carrying an iPhone.
Choose the sleek gray ceramic or chic Hermès. You
can’t go wrong with either one. Or both!
And if you’re looking for something more nautical,
the Garmin quatix 5 has an array of GPS functions,
plus the added bonus of connecting you to Garmin’s
SailAssist and marine autopilot control units, meaning
you can virtually pilot your boat from your wrist.

There was a time when smartwatches
came in one flavor only: sporty. Not any
more, findsJon Alain Guzik
