TIWAL 3.2

Founded by Marion Excoffon and Emmanuel Bertrand, TIWAL is a family com-

pany that designs and manufactures cheeky infl atable dinghies!

When Marion, a bold industrial designer, asked to borrow her father’s boat he

refused, so she decided to build her own! The drive and determination Marion
has for enjoying the pleasures of the outdoors motivated her to design TIWAL

dinghy. Now the rush of sailing is accessible to everyone.

TIWAL 3.2 is the very fi rst high performance infl atable sailing dinghy for water

sports. It is designed to make navigation fun and simple and for the thrill of

speed and glide. Its versatile design allows for both high performance solo use

and leisure sailing in pairs. TIWAL 3.2 is 10.5 feet long and has a 56-square-foot

or 75-square-foot sail. It is light at 111 pounds, compact and it folds away in two

bags. Plus it can be assembled and taken down in 20 minutes.

An outing on a TIWAL is much more than just a day on the water: it’s an

adventure! It is the pleasure of fun, sporting sailing, and special moments shared

with family or friends.

Origami Foldable Canoe

“It all started back in 2013,” says Otto Van De Steene, ONAK

co-founder and designer. “I had just come back from a photo-

graphing trip in Norway and lost my cameras in an accident.

To clear my head, I started making little paper canoes. That’s

when it struck me: what if I could make real-sized origami

foldable canoes? Hundreds of paper canoes and dozens of

prototypes later, I’m proud we persisted with our idea.”

According to co-founder and engineer Thomas Weyn, ca-

noeing is a relaxing way of spending time together. “We wanted

people to be able to experience canoeing wherever they are.”

Onak’s patented Honeycomb Curv polypropylene mate-
rial became the backbone of the innovation. Besides being
extremely tough and fully recyclable, it allowed Onak to design
a stiff canoe almost entirely in one piece, with very few other
parts required. Honeycomb air cells make the boat very light-
weight and give it so much additional buoyancy that it stays
afl oat even when entirely fl ooded with water.
