TEAM BRUNEL Skipper: Bouwe Bekking

This is the Dutch team’s second Volvo Ocean Race after finishing second on its

2014-2015 debut. Still in command is Bouwe Bekking, on his eighth round the

world. Also aboard is Kiwi Peter Burling, who was at the helm of the winning

Emirates Team New Zealand boat in the 2017 America’s Cup in Bermuda.

Seconda partecipazione alla Volvo Ocean Race per il team olandese dopo il

secondo posto ottenuto nel 2014-2015. Al comando sempre l’olandese Bouwe

Bekking, all’ottavo giro del mondo. In equipaggio il Kiwi Peter Burling, vincitore

SUN HUNG KAI-SCALLYWAG TEAM Skipper: David Witt

For its maiden Volvo Ocean Race, Hong Kong selected David Witt, on his sec-
ond round the world, to skipper. As there will be several first-timers aboard, Witt
chose English sailor Steve Hayles, who has completed the Volvo Ocean Race
five times, as his navigator and right-hand man.

Per il suo esordio alla Volvo Ocean Race Hong Kong ha scelto come skipper
l’australiano David Witt, al suo secondo “giro”. In un equipaggio che presenta
molti esordienti, Witt ha voluto come punto di riferimento e navigatore l’in-
glese Steve Hayles, che ha già corso cinque volte la regata attorno al mondo.

DONGFENG RACE TEAM Skipper: Charles Caudrelier

This Chinese team finished third in 2014-2015 and is still skippered by

Frenchman Charles Caudrelier who was aboard 2008-2009 winner Grou-

pama. Chinese sailor Chen Jinhao and navigator Pascal Bidegorry, winner of

the 2015 Transat Jacques Vabre France to Brazil race, are also on the crew.

Il team cinese, terzo all’edizione 2014-2015, ha ancora come skipper il

francese Charles Caudrelier che nel 2008-2009 era sul vincitore Gropuama.

In equipaggio il cinese Chen Jinhao e il navigatore Pascal Bidegorry, tra l’al-

tro vincitore nel 2015 della Transat Jacques Vabre, dalla Francia al Brasile.
