The Spanish team was fourth in the last Volvo Ocean Race and is led by Xabi
Fernández (on his fourth round the world) who skippered the boat on several
stages of the 2014-2015 edition. He is flanked by Kiwi Blair Tuke, who was on

Back after a tough 2014/15 outing, this Danish-American campaign is in part-
nership with 11th Hour Racing, a programme of The Schmidt Family Foundation
which works to effect real change in marine health. Led by Charlie Enright (skip-
per) and Mark Towill. Also aboard is Irishman Damian Foxall on his fifth outing.

TURN THE TIDE ON PLASTIC TEAM Skipper: Dee Caffari
This team’s main mission is to promote the United Nation’s Clean Seas: Turn
the Tide on Plastic campaign. Most of the crew are under 30. Supported by the
Portuguese Mirpuri Foundation and the Ocean Family Foundation, it is led by
Dee Caffari who raced with the all-woman SCA team in the 2014-2015 edition.

Team AkzoNobel was the first to announce for 2017-18 and is led by Simeon
Tienpont. This is his third VOR and he also sailed with Oracle Team USA in the
2010 and 2013 America’s Cups. Also aboard is Martine Grael, daughter of
Torben, who took gold in the 49erFX at Rio in 2016 with Kahena Kunze.Primo team a iscriversi all’edizione 2017-2018, è guidato dall’olandese Simeon
Tienpont, ex di Oracle Team USA all’America’s Cup 2010 e 2013 e alla terza
Volvo Ocean Race. Nell’equipaggio, Martine Grael, figlia del pluri-olimpionico
