Sure to add some Italian sparkle to

a wintery ExCeL, the Riva Rivamare

will make its UK debut at the London

Boat Show.

The 39ft Rivamare is laden with

Riva hallmarks like the meticulously

varnished wooden deck, sloping

transom and a frameless windscreen

topped with gleaming stainless steel.

Below, the chic interior features

a useable galley and bathroom and

a vee berth that can switch between

double bed and a dinette.

When we tested the boat earlier

in the year, we came to the conclusion

that it is ‘possibly the ultimate

Riva Rivamare

Cranchi is not afraid to go off the

beaten track – just look at its quirky

range of trawlers. With the XT 36, the

Italian yard is once again forging a

path of its own by building the closest

thing yet to a waterborne SUV. It even

has an optional roof rack for bikes.

Measuring just shy of 40ft long,

it comes with two cabins and two

bathrooms as standard. However,

it’s possible to lose the second

bathroom and replace it with a third

bunk bed cabin if sleeping space is

your priority. Three cabins on a boat

of 38ft 10in (11.9m) is no mean feat

and it will be interesting to see how

well this layout works when we see

it in the flesh at Düsseldorf.

Despite its boxy looks, a pair of

300hp Volvo Pentas on sterndrives

should make for lively handling

and a top speed of over 30 knots.

Rodman Spirit 42

A coupé version of Rodman’s Spirit

42 will make its worldwide debut at

London. Based on the Spirit 42 Fly,

the coupé shares the twin cabin, twin

bathroom layout of its flybridge sister

but replaces the top deck with a large

sliding sunroof as standard and a pair

of square roof panels.

If clambering up and down

flybridge steps isn’t for you, then the

single-level living space of the coupé

is an attractive option. Unencumbered

by steps, the cockpit of the coupé

should feel more spacious too.

The IPS engine options are the

same as the flybridge with either

IPS400 (300hp) or IPS500 (370hp)

for a top speed of up to 34 knots.
